About the document

The three volumes comprising Australia's National Inventory Report 2012 were submitted under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Kyoto Protocol in April 2014. The National Inventory Report 2012 contains national greenhouse gas emission estimates for the period 1990-2012 compiled under the rules for reporting applicable to the UNFCCC and under the Kyoto Protocol.

This release of the National Inventory Report also includes Australia's first complete estimates for 2008-2012, compiled using the reporting rules applicable to the Kyoto Protocol.

  • Volume 1: Includes Australia's data for energy (stationary energy, transport and fugitive emissions), industrial processes and agriculture.
  • Volume 2: Australia's data for the Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) sector.
  • Volume 3: Australia's data for waste, recalculations, improvements and Kyoto Protocol accounting requirements.
